Nothing personal with the people from there, especially not since this forum says
free speech for all, but this is bloody annoying.
You are NOT Macedonians, you people came there centuries after the Macedonians,
be proud of your Bulgarian, Albanian or whatever heritage, but do not steal the name and
identity from others.

We all know why this "republic" was created and who is behind this history-forging bullshit and the propaganda campaign in the 90s that tried to spread so many lies.
It is as if the Muslim population of England would claim to be Anglo-Saxons.

I don't log in at this forum to talk about politics. I'm Macedonian and I'm proud of it, so you can talk anything you like, I don't care, it's your problem. But explain how my grandads are from near Lerin (Florina) and they have Macedonian names and surenames, but in the exodus against Macedonians from the Greeks they were deported to foreign countries just because they don't want to say that they're Greeks. They still have their sisters and brothers who live there, and also in Australia, Canada etc. This summer I was at my cousin's wedding near Lerin, and in the hotel there was folk band playing Macedonian traditional songs, but with no singing, cause there is forbidden to sing Macedonian songs. And besides Greek, they know Macedonian language very good, and the odlies speak it in the streets.

This is my last post about this, I don't want to argue about politics and stuff. Cheers to all.

Neither we i guess want to talk about it but your friend pride1186 signed in didn't even tell us his name and started his bullshit political propaganda with a map having a region of our country occupied by yours.So you say that we don't answer to that.You can believe and be proud of whatever you want but you can't close your eyes to the facts.You have internet don't eat the shit your goverment feeds you.Macedonia is a Greek region and the language macedonians speak and write is greek(the language you talk is a slavonic dialect with no national identity).
See the signs from 4th century BC they write ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΣ not Александар Македонски.Slavs came to this region at 5th century AC for God's sake.Your names and surnames are slavonic,your language is slavonic find a national identity for yourselves don't take others.

It is also not my interest to start arguments, but me opersonally, I can´t take it, simple as that.
The things you call "Macedonian" are something completely different to what was Macedonian.
Two different things, still the country officials from down there have something like an agenda until 2014
in which they try to make the world believe they are the descendants of the ancient Macedonians,
which were without any doubt one of the founding 232 greek tribes, they differed a little fromt he rest
and where quite behind in the classical age, but they were greek. Currently in FYROM, monuments are being build, referring to Alexandros etc.
We know a girl from there, she has no problem with her real identity, even she admits that it is quite embarassing
what they claim and do.

Some even admitted:

Gyordan Veselinov, FYROM´s ambassador in Canada: "We are not related to the northern Greeks who produced leaders like Philip and Alexander the Great. We are a Slav people and our language is closely related to Bulgarian"

Former president Kiro Gligorov: "We have no connection to Alexander the Greek and his Macedonia."

Anybody who knows about the Macedonian history will know and see that there is no connection.

And for you people from there, there is no problem with you personally.
Slavic population from this region were looking for a common identity, which is alright, but not like this,
it is distorting history, it gives people a wrong impression about the historical facts and the world of Hellenism.
Hellenism spread all over the known world, world history was effected by it big time.
Hellenism was the reason for many things that are still valid today even, many cultural aspects from the Middle East, Northern Africa (Egypt) and Asia Minor are in fact greek and not oriental. It had such a heavy impact that the bible was written in greek, that early Christianity in Europe was very greek in many aspects, even Buddhism was heavily influenced from Hellenism ( the first Buddha statues were formed by greeks in Bactria, which is in today´s Afghanistan, it was under Hellenistic leaders for a few centuries, the greek ideal of humanism influenced Buddhism in a big way, if you do not believe me, just google graeko-buddhism or Buddha/Apollo).
Alexandros claimed to be the reincarnation of Achilles, he loved Homer´s epics, Macedon in a mythological sense was a descendant of Deukalion, the father of all greeks, who survived the great flood.

These are just a few facts.
Important facts for the greek people, greek culture was the reason for all these things and not a new state on the Balcans,
looking for some identity. You call yourself Macedonians, but that is quite a misinterpretation of this word, although
it goes back longer for you people than the actual new republic, but for reasons that lack the historical justification.

And with all respect to you personally, this is just the truth.
Anybody reading this with a bit of interest, learn about the historical facts, you will see WHO the Macedonians were.

My favourite book about the subject is "Alexander the Great" by the above mentioned Robin Lane Fox.

The expansion into Persian territory was a raid for revenge for what the Persians did earlier with their attacks on Greece.
(Athens burned down, Marathon, Salamis,Thermopylae, Platea), also a very very interesting and essential period to understand european
history, people should learn about the Ionian states in Asia Minor, that were kind of the cause for the conflict, cause they did not
want to lose their freedom under Persian rule.
The aftermath of Alexander´s life is also very interesting, like I mentioned above, the Hellenistic kingdoms in Asia that brought Hellenism together with Buddhism and into the old Indian hemisphere, what began to form there is very very interesting and unique,the Seleukides in Persia, Egypt (although it had it´s own old culture before) as the last Hellenistic kingdom that fell to the Romans,
remember Kleopatra was greek, a descendant of one of Alexander´s generals (so much for the blacks in USA who often claim that
Kleopatra was a "black queen", hahahha)., Syria, the later Hellenistic Palestine etc etc., all because of this one man!

Alexander founded many cities called Alexandria, but of course the Egyptian one you put into your lyrics is of highest importance.
It´s biblioteque was the world centre of knowledge, it´s academy gave the world so many brilliant scientists, especially
Archimedes of Syracus in Sicilly-back then a Greek colony, who was maybe the greatest scientist of all times, no Leonardo da Vinci without him, the machines and warmachines he built were fantastic (remember the mirrors that captured sunlight and could set enemy ships on fire), he was brilliant in maths and many other things.

This was the world of Hellenism, many aspects of this forgotten period are still valid and viewable though, in many places of this world,
in our philosophy and in the way we see things, our values and senses.
Knowing history means understanding the present and teaches us for the future, so people who love their homelands and culture
shall never forget that no matter what today´s bullshit media and schools want to tell us, we must take a deep look into history
and listen to the tales our ancestors to make sure we do not get fooled and lose touch with what once was.
